Thanksgiving Roundup!

I know I'm a week late, but I've been super busy at work! I wanted to share my photos and recipes from Thanksgiving! Who knows? You may want to try some of these for Christmas dinner! To get us started, how about a little joke from my friend, Jeremy?

Even the turkey needs some couch time, too!

Went to my sister's house for dinner. Dad's helping out!     Mom was happy with her wine!

I made this decadent Sweet Potato Pecan Cheesecake with Marshmallow Creme topping!

It's easy to make! I found the recipe from this blog and made a few additions. I added 1/2 cup pecans to the filling and 1/2 cup to the topping. I also would have used 1/2 cup sour cream (instead of 3/4) and added more sweet potato and cinnamon. Here's a few photos of what it looks like step by step:

Here's the crust after you bake it to set it.     Here's the cheesecake right before it's baked.

Here's the cheesecake after it's baked ... and with the marshmallow creme topping and chilled overnight.

I was also in charge of fixing a pumpkin pie for mom and the cranberry sauce:

The finished pumpkin pie!                                Cranberries are washed and ready to boil.

Add 1 1/2 cups of sugar.                                          Boil until ready! Chill and serve.

My second grade teacher from Texas, Mrs. Battle, came to Branson with her son for the weekend. She came to my show Saturday night and stopped by my house after the show for some of my famous cheesecake and coffee! So great to see one of my favorite teachers!

Schmooey and I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family and friends! Now it's time to get ready for Christmas and New Year's! Stay tuned for tomorrow's blog about two classic film noirs I watched this week with such icons as Marilyn Monroe, Richard Widmark, Marlene Dietrich and Jane Wyman! Have a blessed day!
