Wednesday Night Wrap
I guess it’s kind of becoming customary for me to blog on Wednesday nights after church. Here are some thoughts from the evening:
The kids were great tonight! It’s amazing how much a bunch of kids can change in one week! I have no idea how it happened, but it did. They were respectful, attentive, and acted somewhat concerned over what I was talking about.
Is ministry always going to be such a roller coaster ride? It’s crazy how much it seems things can change. I guess the key to the whole deal is to not get over emotional about any of it. People change slowly, but can definitely look like they’re changing quickly. It’s also amazing how great it feels when you think that people actually listened to you and are going to respond. At the same time, it is very frustrating when you feel as if you’re talking to yourself.
People have a huge effect on the people around them! This is true for all of us. We all have an effect on the people around us. It can be negative or be positive, the choice is ours.
I talked about hating to go to church, it’s kind of sad that we even have to deal with that! Church is not supposed to be something that we hate to go to. It’s an opportunity for us to learn, to fellowship, to worship, and to serve. Those are the things that should fulfill us as Christians. Why has the church become known as a boring place. Why has the church become known as a place we just have to go to? It’s exciting, it’s our chance to grow, develop, be strengthened, and have fun. It should be a great time for all involved. It sounded like that’s what was going on here. More on this in tomorrow’s post.
